Chapter 1
"You have to keep running. Run as fast as you can and cross the river. Once you are on the other side, I'll help you hide our scent and maybe fly us away." I heard the voice in my head say urgently. She was frustrated, tired, in pain and so was I.
Having been on the run for two days. Trying to create as much of a distance as I could, I was try to loose the hunting wolves who have been trailing and chasing me. Their intentions were to return me to the rogue pack, but its seems that my attempts are futile. I wanted to give up but I couldn't, it took so much planning to be able to run away unnoticed.
"I'm trying as hard as I can, Pearl," I told my wolf. "As you know, we have very little strength left, our injuries are still not healed from the beating we received two days ago, we are hungry, thirsty and we've lost too much blood," I said tiredly.
I could feel her sadness, anger, hurt and heartbreak through our bond. There is nothing I can do at the moment. I tried to reassure her that we were going to be fine once we got away from the carnivores behind us.
There had to be a suitable pack with a kind Alpha that will be willing to take us in, treat our injuries, flush the Mercury, wolfs bane and silver in our system and only then will our body start healing like a normal wolf does.
I was worried about so many things. Mostly of all, how had my brother, Cayden been all this years. He and Luna Serenity from our pack were the only people who cared about my well being.
They had helped clean my wounds, fed me and protected me within the pack.
When they learned about my parents plans, they came up with various ways to keep me out of harms way.
Luna Serenity was to attend the Lunas conference three towns over in Light Moon Pack while Cayden had a school trip. This would have left me vulnerable, so Luna Serenity decided that I would accompany her to the meeting and she was to leave me at her sister's pack.
My mother must have sensed something was amiss because the night that we made it to the conference, was the same night I was kidnapped in the middle of the night.
When I came to, I was in a rogue cell. Chained on the floor with my clothes torn, bruises all over my body and in so much pain.

My name is Alpine Pearl Nightshade, I'll be turning 21 in three days. I'm tall, taller than all the girls in the pack since they were short, previously standing at 5'7 ft tall. Currently I stood at 6'1ft tall. Am physically fit despite the harsh treatment I went through. I have black shoulder length hair, hazel nut eyes that changes to silver when am in wolf form. It came as a surprise, since every wolf in my pack maintained their eye color when they transform.
My wolf's name is Pearl. I haven't seen her for the past thirteen years. The last time I saw her was when we first shifted. She had snow white fur coat that has silver tinge when under the moon, silver eyes, she was strong and huge for a seven year old wolf.
What surprised me the most, were the large white wings on our back. The wings had dark gold markings on them especially when flapped. I had never seen any wolf like me so Luna Serenity, Pearl and I decided to be quiet about us.
I had a sister, Acacia Shadow Nightshade. Despite the fact that we were twins, we looked nothing alike. She was born five minutes earlier and held it against me despite the fact that I was the last born. I had two older brothers Camden and Cayden. They should be turning twenty three years and also pack warriors.
As for my sister, what can I say? To my parents and the rest of the pack she was a saint, the princess of the pack coupled with all those great qualities meant for a Luna and since she shifted to her wolf Shadow, she became a pain In my back.
Everyone loved her, listened to her and always at her beck and call. I on the other hand being the last born of the family, was the disappointment and a human. This came to be when I failed to shift the same year as my sister. Before that, we were inseparable, best friends, one big happy family and pack.
What they don't know won't hurt them right?. I shifted earlier than expected at the age of seven with the help of our Luna. She was, and still is the only one who knows I shifted and promised to keep my wolf a secret.
Pearl wasn't just a normal wolf, she was something I had never seen only heard in myths. Her being so unique posed as a threat to us. She chose to hide, refused to shift at the required age, she felt unsafe within the pack and that is when my perfect little life turned upside-down.
After failing to shift together with my sister, things changed for me. I became the outcast in my pack. Everyone who loved me abandoned me including my parents, twin sister Acacia and my brother Camden.
The only ones who stood by me were the Luna Serenity and Cayden. Even Ariana and Lamia my childhood friends sided with the rest and that's when the bullying started.
I was never safe anywhere, be it at home, at school or even around the pack territory. Being in Dark Forest Pack became a nightmare, so I had started counting the years until I had to leave the pack and not looking back.
I took all the punishments given to me, did all my chores, went to school and kept my head down bidding time. What I failed to know, my parents had struck a deal with the Rogue Alpha Henigan.
I was to be given away to the Alpha and he in turn help my parents and their associates to accomplish a very important mission.
This was the strategy they had planned on using. They wanted to get rid of the abomination, the family disgrace and a disappointment. They were so into their talk, they didn't notice someone unexpected was listening to their conversation. I heard everything, saw everything and felt my heart break with each plan.
FLASHBACK.
It was on a Wednesday afternoon, I left school due to early dismissal by the school nurse. She found me lying in the bathroom floor after receiving a beating down from Alana ( Alpha's daughter) and her clique which included Lamia, my twin sister and their friends.
She felt sorry for me, carried me to her office, tended to my cuts and bruises, cleaned the blood on my face and asked me to go home.
I figured she must be new because all older nurses or even teachers ignored my presence. They even feigned ignorance to everything that happened around them especially if I was involved.
The clique had cornered me on my way to class after lunch break, dragged me by my hair into the school bathroom. They had taken turns in beating me and left me bleeding out and almost loosing conscious.
The school nurse smelt blood and came to investigate. That was how she found me.
I took a shortcut back home through the forest surrounding the pack to avoid being spotted and punished for being home early. I climbed up the tree and through the window to my bedroom so I could have a few minutes to myself in silence.
Although they treated me badly, they never kicked me out of the house and so I still had the bedroom. It wasn't much. I had an old desk and chair for my books. A bed with an old mattress and a small cupboard for my clothes.
I took a short shower, changed my bloodied clothes and decided to go look for some leftovers. After not being given breakfast and spent lunch with the nurse. I needed food.
Sometimes I think it was meant to be fate or just pure coincidence. The fact that I had taken a shower without anyone knowing or sneaked to the house should have been a sign. In the dinning room were my parents, the Alpha's brother and two unknown people. They were discussing on ways to take over other packs and be the rulers.
They waited until everyone was gone and sent everyone else away so they could plan without hiding.
"I need a down payment for the work am about to help you with." One of the unknown men says.
"You will get your payment in 5 years time after we have accomplished our goal." My father replied.
"I don't do this kind of work without reassurance that you people will hold your end of the deal. It's either you give me something or am out."
"What if we gave you something that will serve as a full payment?" My mother asked
"What do you have in mind?" He asked with amused voice and a smirk plastered on his ragged face. "I sure hope its something valuable that's worth loosing my men for." He added mischievously.
"You can have our youngest daughter, Alpine." Suggested my mother.
"Deborah, NO!" Exclaimed my father hitting the table hard. "The Alpha and Luna are going to kill us when they find out."
My mother looked at him like he had grown two heads. I was in shock too, an able to move from my hiding spot. Now he wants to protect me? He was just like the rest of them , what? had he had a change of mind now?
"I'm trying to set everything as it should have been, killing two birds with a single stone. He's here willing to help us achieve our plan and we loose the little abomination." Whispered my mother.
I watched in horror as he sighed and leaned back on the dining chair heavily. "Fine." He agreed curtly. My eyes widen as I felt my heart beat in her chest. Gently pushing away from the door I quickly run to hide under the stairs in the dark corner to avoid detection.
"I'll be collecting my bride in seven day's time." Was the last words he said as they all left. Getting up from the stairs I quickly climb up the stairs. Running to my room, I quickly lock it behind me, I gently laid on my bed. Curling into a small ball as I try to hold my sobs. All the beating I had received, the hunger from morning and the shock all came rushing back. I slowly let darkness consume me with the little voice in my head telling me I had to leave.
The days that followed were a blur to me. After telling Cayden and Luna what I heard and saw. They both promised to do anything possible to keep me safe.
I was happy when the invitation to the annual Lunas conference presented itself and Luna Serenity took me with her.
I had never been outside the pack territory and I enjoyed the scenery through the car window, I never knew there were such tall buildings away from the little town pack. It felt like freedom to me. The tranquility washing over me the further we went away from the pack. For the first in my life I knew what I wanted away from the small pack... I wanted to be here again but this time with no fear.
The journey was peaceful and we received a warm welcome upon arriving at the Light Moon pack. As Luna Serenity mingled, I never left her side until we parted ways to our assigned rooms to freshen up for a welcoming party before the beginning of the conference tomorrow.
The party was winding up, and so every one was retiring to their rooms one after the other for the night. I bid Luna Serenity a goodnight and retired to the room.
After doing my nighty routine, sleep caught up to me easy because I was extremely tired from the journey. Also I had never felt a softer bed in my life before.
Narrators POV
Back in the woods, three men waited patiently for the appropriate time to grab their promised prize.
After dodging the patrol team on the east side of the pack. They snuck up through the window, drug the sleeping girl and took off running through the woods. They disappeared in to the dark night, never to be seen again.
A lot of things happened to her after being kidnapped. She was tortured, starved and poisoned with wolfs bane for refusing to submit and accept Alpha Henigan as her mate.. The things done to her were what made her who she is and what she would be in the future. She needed to run away, escape from them before it was too late for her.
She had tried to escape for so many times without success until one night after severe punishment, she saw an opportunity and took it not looking back.
All Alpine wanted was freedom, she didn't care how long it took her to achieve it. She could hide among the humans and pass of as one. She wanted to live her life even if she had no idea what awaited her on the other side. She would make it work once she was free.

Chapter 2
Alpha Brenna POV
"Promise me you'll wait for us. We might come to you a little bit later than originally planned. It's neither our fault nor does it mean we don't want to meet you. Mother said it was still dangerous." The voice says and I sit up fast looking around. I am seated in a meadow full of pink peonies. It was surrounded by thick trees that look nothing like natural.
"Who are you? Where am I? What do you mean I should wait for 'us'? Who is this US?" Onyx fires up questions rapidly, we have been trying to get the answers to those questions for the past fifteen years since we shifted for the first time.
"I can't say much because even I don't know the answers you seek. All I know is that you're our mate. Mother said to tell you that it wasn't the right time yet. She said it was for both your safety, mine and the future of all the supernatural creatures."
"Does it mean that we aren't going to meet anytime soon? What are we going to do when we are forced to take another as a mate? How are you even able to communicate with me with no bond in place?" Onyx asked the same questions running through our mind, Milo my dragon agreed with a simple nod.
"I don't know, all I know is that all will be revealed when we finally meet. Just promise to wait for us, we will be coming to you. We will find you Onyx, Milo and Brenna."
'JUST WAIT FOR US.' I heard the voice shout before it disappeared and I was woken up to the slamming of my bedroom door.
What in goddess name was the meaning of this? The same old dream for the past 15 years, every time I am woken up before I could inquire her name, or the name of her human. She sure knows how to distract me.
I have never seen her or her wolf. The only thing am left with, is her sweet melodious voice that can make anyone swoon.
She became a frequent visitor. Her visits started when I turned nine and shifted to Onyx for the first time and then continued on when Milo arrived.
Since then, she's been visiting me every night. She always had a good timing, she would visit me when am about to make a mistake or on the verge of giving up.
My name is Brenna Onyx Greystone, soon I will be 25 years old and fully take over after my parents. I am tall at 6'3 feet with short blonde hair, green eyes with a masculine body. Am an only child with my parents being the current King and Queen of supernatural. They go by Queen Zifa and King Zander Greystone.
Its another day, full of paper work, surrounded by all the mated couples in the pack and getting followed like a puppy by June. June is a pack slut who thinks that am going to make her my Luna and future Queen. What a shame that will be?
To add salt to my injuries, I can't seem to find my mate anywhere. I have looked everywhere. In every pack including, the humans land and the no man's land, but she's nowhere to be seen. This has convinced June that we are mates and in her mind, am just not ready to accept her and our bond. Her words not mine.
Who in their right mind would think about mating with her?! She has slept with almost every mated and unmated members of the pack. One of the few exceptions being my beta and his mate, higher ranked pack members and me. She's under the illusion that I don't want to accept our bond due to her colorful past.
What they don't know, I made a promise 15 years ago and all I have been doing is trying to keep that promise to her. I hope that she will come for me, I intend to wait for her.
"I have a feeling, things are about to change and our life is about to become interesting," mused Onyx wiggling her tail excitedly before lying down prompting Milo to roll her eyes.
SOMEWHERE IN AN ABANDONED CABIN
Narrator POV
"WHO LEFT THE CELL DOOR OPEN?" His voice boomed as soon as he got into the room. On his way here, he was fully caught up on what transpired during his few hours of absence. "Where were the guards on duty? Were they not supposed to be on 24 hours watch?" He was angry and his wolf wasn't helping at all. The wolf was celebrating and howling in his head for the first time since they lost their mate. "Would you shut up already, you are causing me a headache."
"You're all fools, how can you be tricked and out smarted by a mere human. How in the devil's name was she able to slip and ran away without anyone of you fools noticing?" he shouted angrily at the foolish rogues trembling while kneeling before him.
He was mad at them and wanted to murder them like he did to the three men who were on guard duty the night his bride ran away. In his mind, they all let their guards down and she took the opportunity to escape. Didn't these fools understand how important she was? He mused internally
He had just gone for a meeting with the same people who sold her to him. The intention of returning to forcefully mate and mark her was heavy on his mind, he hardly concentrated on the said meeting. He arrived, only to find everyone in panic and running around in fear trying to locate her. The pack was in shambles.
He was livid, he had waited close to eight years, how can she run away from him knowing that he'd find her? They had underestimated her despite her numerous attempts at escaping.
No more, she was going to pay severely for making a fool out of him. You just wait Alpine, when I get my hands on you, you're are going to wish you never tried to escape from my grasp, he internally mused.
He didn't care where she ran off to. According to him she was his and no one else's and he planned to skin anyone alive who claims otherwise. You better die in the forest before I get my hands on you.
"You have three days to find her and bring her here. Dead or alive. You better wish that she is found and if not, don't ever come back at all." his voice boomed angrily.
" You will be back in my grasp, then I'll make an honest example out of you. No one messes with me, test my limit or even get away unscathed." He mused with an evil smirk plastered on his face. A smirk that normally sends cold shiver down the spine of his men.
He was so lost in his head planning, he failed to notice a figure spying on him and suppressing a triumphant smile from across the room.
If only he knew of a traitor in his pack, the said traitor being his very own brother. Who was doing this for revenge. He would have had the decency to watch his back.
'You ruined my perfect life brother, now its time you pay for everything you did. Helping the poor girl was just a beginning. Watch your back Henigan.' Mused the tall figure internally

Alpine POV
Running was getting harder each second, I had no idea where I was or where I was headed. All I knew was getting away from them as far as I could. I couldn't allow myself to be captured.
Getting captured meant severe beating, forceful mating or even death, so with about fifty meters left to cross the river, I gave my all. I pumped my legs as fast as they could allow me. I walked around to the shallow end of the river quickly dove in. I scrub myself getting rid of most of the blood until I was on the other side. I disappeared into a dark cave on the side of the river watching from the dark depths at the hunting wolves.
I watched my pursuer's look around confused at my lost scent. "She must've crossed the river!" One man said and the others growled lowly. "We know but how do we find her if we can't find her scent?" Another asks and I sink into the cave further. "If we go back Alpha will kill us. We're better off staying out here trying to find her than going back." One of them offered and the others nodded. "We'll cross to the other side." The bigger of the men said as they all wade the river to my side.
I watched them search the nearby woods with no luck. I thought they would keep searching a little longer, but alas! Luck was on my side because they didn't. They decided to continue their search on the West side as they divided each other into portions. Which gave me the only option but to head east.
"We have to keep moving, we are in another pack's territory and I have no idea if they're friendly or not." My wolf whispers to me. "We were not granted permission to be on their land, they could be hostile."
I had no idea how she knew that. I couldn't smell any wolf scent anywhere but maybe it was due to the Mercury, silver and Wolfs bane in my system messing up with my senses.
"Okay, but first, I have to drink some water. I am too thirsty to keep running" I replied tiredly. She agreed with my idea and once I was perfectly hydrated, I took off in to the woods. I had to leave the territory, I didn't want to be captured for trespassing, locked up or worse get myself killed by some angry Alpha.
Running through the woods brought me a sense of freedom and belonging. Although I was famished, I kept going. By dusk, I was exhausted and hungry, since I was two territories away from my previous location, according to Pearl. I decided to search for a safe place to lay down for the night, but not before looking for some wild berries to munch on.
Laying down in a small cave further into the woods, sleep took its hold on me and soon I was out. It didn't take long before I was plagued with the nightmares of my past life, forcing me to wake up earlier than I would have hoped to. My wounds ached, my energy was low, my head throbbed from all the poison and I could feel a cold coming on from the cold rover water and sleeping in damp clothes.
The urge to cover up and go back to sleep was heavy on me but I knew it wouldn't be long until they caught up with me. Sitting up with extreme difficulty. I slowly eat the left over berries as I crawled out of the cave. Slowly as the dew stuck to my feet, my only option being to get away.
"Pearl, can you shift and take over? We are far away from the Alpha and his pack. I have been running for hours and I feel my adrenaline wearing off please." I plead gently. I didn't know how much further I could continue.
"I don't know if I can shift, it has been years since I did. With all the wolfs bane. I have no idea the limitations it has or even the side effects."
It was just a matter of time before I crashed. I had been on the run for three days. Three days? Oh hell today is our twenty first birthday. How could I have forgotten that little bit of information.
So lost in my thoughts. I didn't realize I had just crossed through one of the forbidden and most dangerous pack lands in history; The Hybrid pack also famously known as The Royal Pack. The last thing I saw was a red shadow before I was tackled to the ground.
Staring up at the blurry figure I couldn't help but smile to myself as I slowly loose consciousness. Happy birthday to me right?

Chapter 3
Narrator POV
'STOP!' Alpha Brenna shouted. 'What do you think you are doing June?' She asked. She was surprised with the sight she stumbled upon. She couldn't believe what she was seeing. Was June about to strike a person who was in capable of defending herself? What was she even doing in this part of the territory and yet was not among the warriors?
She needed to know what had really transpired before she took matters into her own hands. Who better to fill her in than Jordan, her Gamma who was among the first people present during the incidence.
She turned to Jordan for an explanation and after being filled in on what really happened, she felt sorry for the still form on the ground. She needed to get her to the hospital before dealing with June.
'Take her to the hospital, she seems to be loosing a lot of blood,' Brenna commanded her warriors present.
'But Brenna you can't.....' June went to object only to be cut off with a very angry growl that had everyone on their knees, necks shown in submission.
' It's Alpha Brenna to you and everyone else here. You are not my equal for you to address me in such an informal manner,' Onyx voice could be heard booming angrily throughout the forest and back to the mansion. 'Next time you address me in such a manner in front of my pack, I will forget that we were once friends. Furthermore, you don't have the authority to question my direct order.' She added.
June felt humiliated, she had been terrorizing the pack members making them do her biddings. No one was ever brave enough to go against her because they all thought that she was the Alpha's mate. She felt like she had to do something to save face.
'Alpha Brenna, how can she be taken to the infirmary and not the rogue cell or killed on spot like we normally do? What's so special about her that you are not granting me permission to kill her as is my right to do so. Was I not the one who captured her?' June asked angrily.
Something wasn't sitting well with her. Why was Brenna not following their stated rule? She had a right to execute the rogue or did she not?
Lost in thoughts and confusion, June failed to notice how fast their Alpha had moved and was now stood in front of her with a very angry face and dark red eyes boring holes in to her.
The warriors present were feeling the negative pressure emitted by their Alpha, they understood why she was furious with June. The girl on the ground was seriously bleeding out and immobile yet June only cared about showing her dominance.
Looking at her, they knew that the girl needed medical attention before anything else could be said or done. She looked like she was running away in her state. She may have been a rogue but a rogue with the marks of injections on her hands and the smell of the wolfs bane? It only increased their curiosity over the girl rather than their stated laws. Wolfs bane was banned.
Feeling the amount of anger and disgust projected in the pack link, they knew that it wasn't their Alpha in charge but her wolf. Everyone feared for their lives. They knew what normally happened when Onyx took over from her human and prayed that Milo doesn't wake up because it will a nightmare.
'I will say this one last time, I give the orders. Whether she is a rogue or not, she needs medical attention before anything else. We will treat her and then find out why she crossed our borders and who has injected her with wolfs bane. Remember, everyone knows it's a death wish to be in possession of wolfs bane. This is the last time I am addressing you June. Don't force me make an example out of you.' Onyx angrily growls.
June could do nothing but nod in agreement, she knew she had overstepped but didn't want to accept her mistakes.
Once Onyx retreated back, everyone released the breath they were holding and rushed to do as instructed by their Alpha
Alpha Brenna on the other hand was confused on why she felt the need to defend the rogue. Onyx was jittery and anxious in her head especially with the scent of wolfs bane. It hid the wolf's scent beneath and she wanted to unearth it.
Her nerves were too much that it woke up Milo from her nap. Milo had no idea of the happenings around her or to her companions. What they failed to realize, was in the next couple of days their world was going to change forever.
Earlier that day.....
She was in her office with her Beta, Chase and his mate, Chastity. They were both her friends and close confidants. They were busy writing some invitation letters to other packs for the summer super bowl that usually happen after every two years.
This was not her idea, it was her parents' and the council members. They felt that its about time they host a bowl and maybe, she might meet her mate. They stopped hosting any bowls or conferences after an incident that happened eight years ago at the Light Moon pack.
To them, time was running out for their future queen which meant she had to find her mate before her twenty fifth birthday which was in a month's time.
She was supposed to take over from her parents as the queen of all the supernatural but she was allowed to do so only if she has her mate by her side which of course she didn't or she hadn't met them yet.
So here they were on a bright Saturday morning, writing invitation letters to a bowl that will only disappoint her again or so she thought.
They were half way through when she got an alert. A rogue had intruded on their land. She ordered her warriors ahead while she and Chase followed behind.they had to subdue the said rogue and find out why they had trespassed on their land.
Even though her parents hadn't stepped down from thrown, they had given her the reigns to rule the pack and learn more about her people. So she was in charge of the pack and their territory.
On their way to the location, she got a mind link from her Gamma Jordan that the rogue had been caught but she was unconscious, bleed, smelling like wolfs bane and in need of a serious medical attention.
She asked what had happened but the only answer she got was that she needed to arrive at the scene to see for herself.
Running as fast as she could, with Chase close behind her. She arrived few minutes later to the East side of the border. To say she wasn't prepared for the sight before her would be an understatement.
On the ground was a tall female, seriously injured and bleeding out. She looked dead if not for the slow rising and falling of her chest, she would have assumed so herself. Hovering above her was June, claws drawn out, angry face ready to tear out her throat.
She stopped abruptly in shock which almost made her Beta run in to her. She was speechless for several minutes. Why would June try to kill a defenseless person? They normally killed rogues yes, but not without trial first and not when they can't defend themselves.
She had to act fast and prevent spilling of innocent blood. Hesitating for a minute Onyx took the opportunity to take control before all the commotion escalated and woke up Milo. Onyx knew that things would not look pretty if Milo is awoken from her nap. Milo hated how out of hand June has gotten. She had even suggested that she's sent to the academy for a year or so to help straighten her up but everyone thought to give her a chance, a chance that she was seriously wasting.
It took longer than planned but once she was sure everything and everyone was set in their place, she followed the warriors to the hospital wing in the mansion to check on their new guest.
The hospital was buzzing with nurses and their assistants. Jordan was in a conversation with Jodie who happens to be her twin sister and also the hospital nurse assigned to the rogue.
Jodie was in the middle of explaining the health status of their rogue friend. Brenna made sure her presence was known. Curiosity getting the best of her, she had to know the problem with the patient.
'How is she Jodie? Will she regain consciousness anytime soon?' she made sure to ask politely even though both Onyx and Milo were demanding her to burst in the room and see for herself.
'Nice of you to join us Alpha Brenna,' Jodie acknowledged her presence. 'As I was telling the Gamma, her vitals are stable but we had lost her once and had to resuscitate her. Her breathing is irregular which could have been caused by a number of things. Either her damp clothes or the wolfs bane. We also need to do more tests to her and determine the real problem because she doesn't appear to be healing as fast as a normal wolf does yet we've taken the wolfs bane and silver out. Unless she is a hybrid of which I am highly doubtful about, we will need to consult High priestess Amaris about this case.' She adds.
She was alarmed already. Why would they need to consult the High Priestess? She was never summoned unless it was a matter of life and death situation or when it involves the Myths and prophecies. She had to find more before she brought the matter to the council.
'What do you mean she's not healing as fast as a normal wolf does? Why would we need to summon the High Priestess Amaris for this? I thought she only had a head injury from the fall and the wolfs bane. Is there anything else that I need to know about?' she inquire.
The warriors earlier never mentioned her sustaining any more injuries. Did June do more damage before anyone else arrived at the scene? She couldn't put it past her. She's known to be violent against any female members of the pack or outside the pack. She believes that scaring them away, will pave way for the alpha to notice her .
She turn to the Gamma the question hanging in the air. Milo was itching to punish June, she hated mistreatment of any kind to anyone. She knew of Junes' tendencies. Even though she had issued several warnings to her, she never heed to them. But before she could even ask, Jordan beat her to it.
'No Alpha, June didn't do anymore damage than earlier reported. I arrived just as she had tripped her and stopped her before you arrived,' She said truthfully. Before she could speak, Jodie spoke again.
'Alpha, from my observation, it appears that the patient is completely human. How that is possible, I cannot say until I have performed a blood work on her. Until then, we will keep her with us but am going to request that the High Priestess be summoned as fast as you can. I fear, the dark days are upon us. Wolfs bane and silver is not a joke Alpha. It could have killed her but she lives and this still baffles me.' She said before she excused herself and returned to her patients.
What she said had Brenna's fur itching, "the dark days are upon us" what did she mean by that? Was there a war coming their way? Whoever had the wolfs bane definitely knows it's not allowed. She had more questions than answers and it seems like the Gamma wasn't fairing that well.
She was brought out of her musing by the arrival of Chase who by the look on his face, wasn't baring any good news at all. This was the kind of face he usually made whenever they had a meeting with other Alphas, there's a rogue attack or they had a pending meeting with the council members. More precisely, whenever they have been summoned before the council.
Could the day be any worse than it already was? Chase uttered four words that made her wish she had never woken up early on a weekend.
'Alpha, we have been summoned!'
How I hate Saturday mornings! Was her thoughts while exiting the hospita
