My Fake Omega, My True Destiny

Language: en

Jasper was an Alpha from a top-tier family, a man everyone believed was destined to stand at the top. With his status and bloodline, no one doubted he would marry an Omega from a family that matched his own prestige. Jasper expected the same future-until he found himself strangely avoiding an Omega who didn't even possess pheromones. The situation became more ridiculous by the day. One friend teased, "You're an Alpha, yet you're afraid of an Omega?" Another stared in disbelief. "What kind of Omega is six-foot-three?" Jasper could only sigh. "Did it ever cross your mind...…

Chapter 1

The streets stood empty well after midnight. Minutes stretched on with no cars in sight, as if the whole city had sunk into a deep, unbroken sleep. The dim streetlights only made the quiet feel heavier.

A black Maybach suddenly sped into downtown Kajdhport before coming to a sharp halt outside a private hospital that specialized in Alpha care.

The tires screeched loudly against the asphalt, ripping through the tranquility of the night.

The sudden braking threw Jasper Lewis forward. He was already too weak to keep himself upright and nearly slipped from the back seat.

His breaths came quick and shallow. His face and neck were flushed with heat, while sweat had soaked his rumpled clothes until they clung tightly to his body. His lips stayed slightly open as hot breaths escaped between them, and his entire body seemed consumed by an uncontrollable restlessness.

"We've arrived, Mr. Lewis. Please hang on a little longer. We'll have a doctor take a look at you."

The one who spoke was the driver. His palms were damp against the steering wheel. He had managed to make the twenty-minute journey in only ten.

He quickly got out of the vehicle and assisted Jasper out of the back seat.

Under normal circumstances, Jasper would have recoiled from even the slightest touch and struck out without warning. Tonight, though, he resembled a starving lion that was too exhausted to bare its fangs.

He did not swear at the driver or push him away.

They arrived at the emergency department two minutes later.

A nurse drew Jasper's blood to determine whether his pheromone levels were stable.

"It certainly appears that you're entering a rut." After observing Jasper shifting uneasily in his chair, the doctor placed his chart to one side. "The earliest we can have your blood test results is fifteen minutes from now."

He pointed to a small room nearby. "If the discomfort becomes too much to bear, there's a calming room next door. It releases broad-spectrum Omega pheromones that should help ease your symptoms."

Jasper slowly curled his hands into trembling fists. Moist strands of hair rested against his forehead, while sweat gathered along his neck.

He was undeniably handsome, yet there was normally a coldness in his presence, a hostile edge that discouraged anyone from approaching him. Even now, despite his weakened condition, he remained intimidatingly unapproachable.

"I don't need it," Jasper replied without hesitation.

Ever since reaching adulthood, he had depended on suppressants to endure every rut. He had never encountered an Omega whose compatibility with him was perfect.

This time, though, the oral suppressant had failed to work. Even the injection had done nothing to relieve his symptoms.

The turmoil within him only grew stronger.

What was even more unusual was that he felt no desire whatsoever to mark an Omega.

He did not yearn for an Omega's pheromones, nor did he want one nearby to calm him.

This was nothing like a normal rut.

An Alpha could receive only one injectable suppressant within a single day. He had already taken his dose, which left the hospital as his only option.

"Where is your Omega?" the doctor questioned.

"I've never marked an Omega." Jasper made an effort to keep his voice steady, though his growing impatience was impossible to hide.

The doctor examined him with obvious doubt.

An Alpha who had never marked an Omega should not have deteriorated so severely during a rut.

A rut was the period when an Alpha's possessive instincts toward an Omega became strongest. The more intense the symptoms, the more urgently the Alpha required the comfort provided by a partner's pheromones.

From the doctor's perspective, there was no doubt that Jasper had a partner.

"You can't lie to your doctor." The elderly physician's stern tone reflected the authority that came with years of medical experience. "You told me you'd taken an oral suppressant before receiving an injection. Yet your condition has already deteriorated to the point that isolation is required. If you leave the hospital in this condition, you could lose control and attack an Omega at any moment."

The law mandated isolation for Alphas whose rut symptoms became dangerously severe. The regulation was designed to safeguard Omegas, whose physiology made them more vulnerable. An Alpha experiencing an extreme rut could become unstable and aggressive, making it unsafe for him to remain among the public.

Jasper had no idea how he could possibly explain what was happening to him.

"I'm not lying!" The agitation inside him was already approaching its limit. "And I'm not going into isolation."

He genuinely felt no desire to mark an Omega.

All he felt was excruciating pain, as though his body were burning from within. Every inch of him was overheated, restless, and painfully tense, leaving him incapable of finding even the slightest relief.

The sound of hurried footsteps came from outside the consultation room.

"Doctor, the patient's blood test results are out." The nurse walked in carrying a laboratory report. She appeared visibly uneasy, particularly when she looked toward Jasper.

She passed the report to the doctor and stood quietly, waiting for him to examine the results.

After reading through the report, the doctor raised his eyes to the nurse. Just as she had anticipated, the shock on his face mirrored her own.

The nurse's expression grew solemn. "We tested the same blood sample three separate times. Should we collect another sample and run the test again? The machine could be faulty. Or should we have the patient transferred to a larger hospital?"

Jasper's brows drew together at her words. Transferred to a larger hospital? Had a simple rut somehow become a life-threatening condition? From the concern in the nurse's voice, this clearly wasn't something trivial.

"What exactly is happening?" the driver asked as he stepped forward.

The doctor held the report between his fingers and gestured toward the doorway. "You can leave now. There's no need to repeat the test."

The nurse gave Jasper a cautious glance before walking out.

Jasper stayed seated on the small stool opposite the doctor, though he was barely capable of remaining upright. He had one hand gripping the edge of the desk, and it trembled uncontrollably.

Being unable to control himself was excruciating. It was like being submerged beneath deep water and desperately struggling toward the surface. Yet every attempt he made to regain control only sent his agitation spiraling higher, making it impossible for him to think clearly or do anything purposeful.

The doctor rotated the report toward Jasper and passed it across the desk. "Sex pheromone concentration—above nine thousand. Glandular blood ketones—above three hundred."

Jasper stared blankly at the figures. He spent much more time in bars and nightclubs than studying medical reports, so the numbers might as well have been written in another language.

"What does that mean?" he asked.

Were his pheromone levels just abnormal?

"You're not experiencing a rut." The doctor lightly tapped his fingers against the desk. "These results show that you're in heat."

He stopped for a moment to watch Jasper's reaction.

As expected, Jasper's annoyance intensified. A cold, disbelieving laugh almost escaped him, and for an instant, he felt like destroying the entire hospital.

Everyone knew that Omegas experienced heat. He was an Alpha. How could an Alpha possibly be in heat? Even the most absurd soap opera would never invent something this ridiculous.

"Are you going to tell me that my condition belongs in your hospital's collection of rare cases?" Jasper asked with biting sarcasm.

The doctor made no attempt to deny it. Instead, he seemed genuinely interested in the possibility. "If you give me permission, I'd like to record your case. It's extraordinarily rare."

Fuck.

Jasper was just about to swear when the doctor added, "I know this may be difficult for you to accept, but you are in heat. Your glandular blood results also show that you've been marked."

The doctor allowed him a brief moment before continuing, "Your body is searching for the pheromones of the person who marked you. You want to be close to them. Since medication has failed to suppress your symptoms, I strongly recommend that you locate that person. Their pheromones may help you get through this heat. There is no alternative."

Jasper's breathing became increasingly labored. The doctor continued speaking, but Jasper could only catch scattered fragments, the rest dissolving into an indistinct hum.

What the hell was this doctor talking about? Was this some kind of joke?

A mark was supposed to be an Alpha's way of claiming an Omega. He was an Alpha. How could anyone have possibly marked him?

The driver was equally bewildered. "Doctor, are you certain there hasn't been some kind of error? He's an Alpha."

The doctor kept his attention on Jasper. "There is absolutely no mistake. This is a private hospital dedicated to Alpha care. I'm fully aware of your designation."

Cases of an Omega marking an Alpha were extremely rare. Only two had been documented in the previous hundred years, and both involved Omegas whose differentiation into Alphas had been unsuccessful.

There was another possibility as well—one that was considerably more disturbing.

Still, until he could confirm the truth, the doctor refused to make any assumptions.

He stood from his chair, his expression turning solemn. "Your symptoms are already quite severe. If you don't find the pheromones you need, you won't be able to remain here and have a conversation with me like this for another two hours."

Seeing the uncertainty in Jasper's eyes, the doctor continued, "If you were bitten while unconscious, I can arrange for the bite mark to be traced. You can also report the person responsible for sexual assault. Forced marking is a criminal offense. In less serious circumstances, the matter may be settled privately, while severe cases can result in imprisonment."

A sexual assault complaint. That was the sort of accusation Omegas usually made against Alphas.

For an Alpha to file such a complaint was humiliating enough that Jasper would rather have his head ripped off and thrown around like a ball. He had never imagined anything could be more disgraceful.

Someone might as well put him out of his misery. He wouldn't even object to being hanged.

The doctor stared straight at Jasper. "Do you remember who did it? You're almost out of time."

Jasper inhaled sharply, his thoughts completely tangled.

No matter how absurd the diagnosis sounded, he could not ignore the way his body was reacting.

Every rising wave of anxiety urged him toward the same solution—find the pheromones that could soothe him before he completely lost control. Otherwise, he would be driven insane. He could already feel himself nearing that point.

His limbs were rapidly losing their strength, while his insides seemed to twist and churn without end. He was unbearably hot, as though one tiny spark would be enough to set his entire body ablaze.

Jasper desperately racked his brain for an answer. Trouble had always seemed to follow him, and without anyone restraining him, he seldom made it through a day without getting himself into some sort of mess.

He had picked countless fights and accumulated more enemies than he could possibly recall. If his family and Alpha status had not protected him, someone would have made him pay dearly for his behavior long ago.

Ordinarily, he was the one who caused trouble for everyone else. Nobody had ever been bold enough to turn the tables on him.

He dug through one muddled memory after another until a familiar figure suddenly appeared from the shadows of his mind.

The stark hospital lights seemed to fade, replaced by the extravagant neon glow of that night.

Then it struck him.

An Omega had indeed bitten him a month earlier.

Jasper abruptly turned toward the driver. Using every bit of strength he had left, he forced himself to speak clearly. "Find out who that Omega was—the one I flirted with at Spirit Lounge a month ago. Find out where he is now. I want an answer right away!"

Chapter 2

Jasper knew he had to find that Omega.

Once the whole thing was over, he could pay him and make sure their paths never crossed again.

If this went on much longer, he was going to die.

His driver started calling people right away, trying to get the security footage from the Spirit Lounge.

It was two in the morning. Without Boutsen Group's influence, there was no chance anyone would give them access at this hour.

The doctor had told Jasper what was happening to him and warned him that medicine wouldn't help.

Jasper didn't ask for more details. Explanations had never interested him much; he wanted the problem dealt with and any threat removed.

Finding that Omega was all that mattered now.

It had been a month, and the bar was too dark for Jasper to have seen that Omega clearly. He met attractive Omegas all the time, and this one's face had slipped from his memory.

What he did remember was that the Omega was much taller than any Omega he had met before. He even had a vague memory of the Omega bending down to bite him.

How had one bite from an Omega done all this?

Still dazed, Jasper walked out of the hospital and got straight into the car.

His phone chimed, but checking it felt like too much effort. Heat ran through his fingers as he pulled at his collar and opened the top two buttons of his shirt. The pale blue fabric made him look younger, like a college student. Moonlight came through the car window and fell across his sharp profile and the hand at his open collar.

He stayed still in the back seat. His finely defined features made him look almost sculpted, and a light sheen of sweat took some of the coldness from his face. In the dim light, his lean frame looked a bit fragile, a sharp contrast to the commanding presence he normally carried.

No one would have called Jasper gentle. His features were sharp, and he kept people at a distance even when he smiled. There was something cool about him, like winter.

Omegas admired that aloof elegance, and his powerful family name drew plenty of them too.

He liked to have fun, but he didn't toy with Omegas. That Omega's fighting skill had impressed him, and that was why he had flirted with him.

He hadn't imagined that one impulsive encounter would leave him like this.

On the first occasion he'd flirted with an Omega, he'd managed to pick one who could put an Alpha into heat. Even now, Jasper had to admit he had remarkable taste.

Another chime brought his attention back to his phone. He shook his head and made himself focus on the screen.

Robert Lewis had messaged him. Robert was his father, if he wanted to put it politely. News that he was looking for the Omega had apparently reached his father already.

"Do you even know who you're trying to find? People are calling me about it already. Get home. Now."

Jasper's chest was so tight he could barely breathe, let alone answer.

The driver hurried back just then, opened the door, and got behind the wheel.

"Got the address, Mr. Lewis." He sounded excited, though a trace of hesitation remained underneath. He glanced into the back seat before making up his mind. A reprimand from Robert was better than letting Jasper come to harm. "Hang in there. I'm taking you to his place."

Jasper tried to speak, but nothing came out. This damned reaction had an Alpha like him hunting for an Omega at two in the morning.

People had always given way to him. Strength decided a person's standing, and Alphas held unquestioned authority. His family name gave him influence even among them. He'd grown up proud and pampered, with no reason to lower himself or ask anyone for help.

Most Alphas could make their own Omegas tremble with a single look. But now he was close to begging. He hated the thought, but he wanted to live.

The driver raced through the dark streets.

Jasper could feel how little control he had left over his emotions. His pheromones seemed to be pulling every string, and his body wanted the person who had marked him. Only that person's pheromones would help.

If he could get near that Omega and find some comfort, perhaps the turmoil inside him would settle. Another long delay, and he felt as though he might fall apart.

He was sure no Omega would turn him away. He was an S-Class Alpha, everything an Omega was supposed to want. Surely the one from the bar would want him too.

The streets grew quieter the farther they went. Dozens of miles from downtown, the driver finally stopped outside a house that had been converted into small rental rooms.

Jasper would never have come to a place like this under normal circumstances.

"First room inside, Mr. Lewis." The driver pointed toward the room nearest the entrance. "Knock nicely, please. We need his help, so apologize for showing up this late."

Jasper barely heard him. He caught only first room inside. Relief was so close now.

After all that heat, the thought of reaching it felt like finding water after two weeks alone in the desert.

He needed to get there.

His thoughts raced beyond his control as another fierce wave of heat went through him.

Jasper pushed the car door open and stumbled toward the room.

Years of neglect had left the entrance gate coated in rust. It smelled sharply of metal and creaked whenever the wind stirred it. The grime made his skin itch just to look at it.

He frowned and kept going, though every shaky step threatened to put him on the ground.

Courtesy had slipped his mind. So had the rule that an Alpha shouldn't frighten his own Omega. Except that wasn't right. This was temporary. He wouldn't call the person inside his Omega.

His pounding set off the sound-activated lights downstairs, then the ones on the second floor. Behind him, the rusty gate kept squealing and wearing on his nerves.

Knocking didn't feel like enough. He wanted to rip the gate off its hinges.

He hit it again, and the frame shook. His heart beat even faster than his fist struck the gate. It felt ready to burst out of his chest.

He pounded on it once more.

Several yards away, the driver kept his distance. Jasper had come to see an Omega, and it wouldn't be right to stand close by for what might happen next.

Still, watching Jasper batter the gate made the driver press a hand to his temple.

Jasper was barely aware of what he was doing. The driver could only let out a heavy sigh.

The last of Jasper's strength drained away as he kept knocking. Each blow grew weaker until it was almost gentle.

He didn't notice the gate opening.

His next weak knock met someone's chest.

Breathing hurt, and he struggled to raise his head. His fingers gripped the fabric under his hand as he tried to recall what the driver had said—he needed to be polite.

He could hardly make himself heard, but he managed to ask, "Could you give me some of your pheromones, please?"

Chapter 3

Jasper forced his heavy eyelids apart, struggling to get a clear look at the Omega standing in front of him.

The Omega was undeniably tall—nearly half a head taller than him.

He was nothing like the type of Omega Jasper had always imagined.

He had pictured someone gentle and charming, someone with a delicate appearance and a warm personality. Someone who enjoyed being cared for, who would happily let him take the lead instead of trying to overpower him.

But the Omega before him was the complete opposite.

An Omega with a build like that would draw attention wherever he went.

He was even taller than many Alphas. The thought alone was terrifying.

Someone like him was probably destined to spend his entire life alone.

After all, who would willingly choose an Omega who looked like a warrior and carried himself with more dominance than most Alphas?

Jasper definitely would not.

But none of that mattered anymore. His body's demand for the Omega's pheromones had already overwhelmed everything else. It was an instinctive need buried deep in his biology, something his rational mind could not fight.

He wanted to be soothed. More than anything, he needed to stay near this Omega.

When an Alpha entered rut, there were only two ways to endure it: take suppressants or remain by an Omega's side.

An Omega's pheromones could ease an Alpha's restless state, calm the storm inside him, and keep him from completely losing control.

Every part of Jasper was begging for relief.

His fingers tightened around the Omega's shirt. A thought suddenly flashed through his mind. This Omega had to have planned it. Too many Omegas had tried to get close to him because of his status, and this was far from the first time someone had attempted to trap him. The realization only fueled his anger. "Give me your pheromones."

His voice was so faint that only the two of them could hear it. His trembling fingers fumbled with the fabric several times before he finally managed to hold onto the Omega's shirt.

The Omega wore a loose black top and stood there with an almost careless calm, as if nothing around him mattered. Yet his gaze carried an unspoken threat. He kept his distance, hiding every thought behind his silence.

He gave no response. The motion-sensor light above them flickered out, plunging the area into darkness. Only the glow of the moon remained, casting a sharp line of silver across his face.

Half hidden beneath the shadows, his chiseled features looked even more intimidating. There was a steady, mature composure about him, a quiet authority that made Jasper feel as though he had been caught in place by that piercing gaze.

His expression held no obvious hostility, merely a chilling indifference devoid of any warmth.

Even in a situation this unusual, he showed no sign of panic, confusion, or surprise.

His eyes slowly lowered to Jasper's hand gripping his shirt.

"I don't have pheromones." The words left his lips in a low, detached voice, calm enough to barely disturb the silence around them.

Jasper was certain that he was lying. This Omega had already marked him. So how could someone like that possibly have no pheromones?

Jasper's brows drew together as his patience began to wear thin. His fingers tightened around the fabric in his hand.

"If I actually had any, you would've noticed the moment you got close enough," the Omega added, his voice carrying the same indifference as before.

Jasper's thoughts stalled. The Omega's words made sense. They were standing far too close for him not to detect an Omega's pheromones. If they existed, he should have caught their scent instantly.

Meanwhile, his own Alpha pheromones had already spread through the air. Under normal circumstances, this Omega would have been intimidated, or at least shown some sign of distress. But he stayed eerily composed.

There was only one explanation. Could the Omega have a pheromone disorder? That would explain why he felt nothing like other Omegas.

Jasper's eyes widened slightly as the pieces finally fell into place. If this Omega truly could not release pheromones into the air, then...

People with pheromone disorders might be unable to emit them normally, but that did not mean they were completely incapable of transferring them. A kiss could still pass them on. Blood, bodily fluids, even saliva could carry the trace he desperately needed.

Jasper shook his head violently, forcing himself to stay conscious, but his legs grew weaker until he slowly collapsed downward.

At that moment, breathing was all he could manage with the little strength he had left. His heart pounded far beyond its normal rhythm, his veins throbbed as if they might split open, and the sweat clinging to his skin burned with unnatural heat. Without the Omega's pheromones, his life would end here.

Instinct took over, drowning out every thought Jasper had left. Morality, hesitation, and reason all vanished beneath one overwhelming need—he needed to have sex with this Omega.

His fingers clenched tightly around the Omega's shirt as he looked up at him, desperation impossible to hide. "Have sex with me."

"Why would I?" The Omega stared down at him, his unreadable eyes giving away none of his true emotions.

The veins on Jasper's hand tightened beneath his skin. "Why are you even asking? This is on both of us!"

Only after the words escaped did Jasper realize his mistake. The Omega's imposing build had once again made him forget the obvious—that the person standing before him was still an Omega. Forcing himself to think like the Alpha he was supposed to be, he steadied his voice. "I'll be committed to you after this."

Before the Omega could say a word, Jasper's hand moved on its own, reaching up toward the side of his neck. The Omega's skin was cool against his scorching palm, a sharp contrast to the heat coursing through his body.

Jasper tipped his head back slightly and leaned closer, his breath coming out warm and uneven.

Then his lips found the Omega's.

The kiss was clumsy and desperate, driven by instinct as Jasper tried to pull him deeper into it.

The moment their mouths touched, a faint trace of pheromones slipped into his senses.

The scent was sharp and pure, like fresh snow melting into a rushing mountain stream. It washed through the heat consuming him, easing the unbearable pressure from within and bringing a cooling relief that spread through every inch of him.

Jasper nearly melted from the sensation.

Hidden beneath that crisp chill was another layer—a deep, warm trace of sandalwood. And he found himself loving it.
